The annual Tallinn Day opened Saturday morning with the traditional meet-up of Tallinn Mayor and Prime Minister at the Lühike Jalg gates in the Old Town.
From today it´s possible to apply for support to buy a bicycle for a school child in Tallinn
From August 1, 2022, applications for "Bike to School" support can be submitted in Tallinn. A one-time subsidy of up to 100 euros is intended for the purchase of a bicycle for children aged 10–15 who have received their cyclist driving licenses this year, i.e. in 2022.
Tallinners can once again dispose of bulky waste for free
Tallinn residents will be able to dispose of bulky waste at waste stations free of charge from 22 to 28 August. Waste stations and hazardous waste collection points will be closed on 20 August, the Day of Restoration of Independence.
New cigarette bins help fight pollution on Tallinn beaches
Last week, special litter bins were installed on the beaches of the Põhja-Tallinn district to prevent cigarette butts from ending up in the sea. The material collected in the bins will later be given a new life as 3D printing filament. This is initially a pilot project that will run for two months.

Tallinn provides residents with home composters and containers for bio-waste collection
To promote separate collection of bio-waste, the City of Tallinn will provide residents of detached houses, semi-detached houses, terraced houses and two-apartment houses with home composters and collection containers on preferential terms. Applications will be accepted from 15 September until composters and bins are available.
