This year’s Tallinn participatory budget received 389 proposals
The call for proposals for the Tallinn's second participatory budget 2022 was a success - the people of Tallinn submitted a total of 389 ideas for promoting city life. The largest number of proposals was submitted for developing the urban environment.
Construction work on a unique extreme sport area began in Tondiraba Park
Last week, the construction works were initiated in Tondiraba Park for creating a unique extreme sports area – a skatepark and a pumptrack. This will add environmentally friendly leisure and sports activities for citizens of all ages. The entire park will be completed by the end of this summer.
Tallinn celebrates Baltic Sea Day with seminar and beach clean-up
Baltic Sea Day is celebrated on 25 August to remind people of the importance of the maritime environment and to encourage them to take action to improve the state of the Baltic Sea. Tallinn is organising a thematic seminar and a clean-up event at Stroomi beach.
Tallinn offers free winter swimming and training with top athletes
On Friday, 25 November from 8-9 am, three sports halls and three winter swimming centers in Tallinn will be hosting a sports morning, where everyone can take part in free training sessions.
Tallinn’s candidacy to the title of European Capital of Sport has been presented
This week, the ACES of Europe Validation Committee got to know the opportunities for sports and the organisation of sports in Tallinn – the prerequisites for the title of European Capital of Sport 2025 are created by local and national sport events taking place here in addition to the infrastructure supporting sports. The winner will be declared this November.
Cornerstone laid for Tallinn Sports Hall extension
Today, the cornerstone was officially laid for the extension of the Tallinn Sports Hall, which will be completed next autumn as an important preparation for 2025, when Tallinn will be the European Capital of Sport.
Residents can vote for the best athlete and team of the year
All citizens of Tallinn will have the chance to take part in the selection of the best athlete and team in Tallinn 2022. On the website you can make your selection and vote for your favorites in the following categories: best female athlete, best male athlete, best sports team, best youth athlete and best para-athlete - voting is open until midnight of 30 November. Residents can vote for their athletes here.
