On Tallinn Day, May 15, the traditional washing of the city streets will take place, which also marks the finish of this year’s Urban Maintenance Month. The street sweepers will start moving from Pirita road towards the city centre at 8 am.
Organized every year at the beginning of autumn, the popular light festival, initially started in Kadrioru Park, has considerably expanded - this year, light installations will be lit both in Kadrioru Park and in many other parks in the City Centre.
Today, 4 January, the cornerstone was laid for the Kadriorg Park Economic Building (L. Koidula 34a, Tallinn). A modern building inspired by the historical orangery is under construction, part of which will be open to visitors in the future.
Starting Tuesday, January 2, reconstruction works will begin on Koidula Street, between Poska and Koidula 34a, to install utilities for the new orangery in Kadriorg Park.
Tallinn will convene a special commission composed of dendrology experts, with the goal of developing methods of combating diseases that have begun to affect elm trees in the city.
