The Tallinn Urban Environment and Public Works Department and the Tallinn City Centre Administration have introduced redevelopment plans for Petrooleumi Street.

To ensure environmentally friendly disposal of old Christmas trees, Tallinn has opened 83 collection points where residents can drop off their trees free of charge. Trees can also be taken to waste stations or have them picked up by the local waste management service.

The Estonian Environment Agency warns of heavy snow and sleet across the country on Friday, continuing into Saturday. Blizzards and wind speeds of up to 24 m/s are expected. Please allow extra time to reach your destination.

Flu cases have been increasingly common this season, and in some instances, the illness can have severe consequences. Tallinn invites everyone to protect their health. On January 17, several vaccination points across the city will be open for flu vaccinations.

From January 20–24, the Estonian Defence Forces will conduct an exercise in Tallinn aimed at preparing soldiers for participation in international missions. The exercise is planned in a way that will not disrupt residents' daily lives.

This week, the Tallinn City Government adopted a detailed plan for the area between Filtri tee and Masina street in Kesklinn. Due to the national defense purpose of the Juhkentali military complex, much of the area will remain closed to the public.

Tallinn is set to upgrade Apteegi, Kooli, and Gümnaasiumi streets in the Old Town. The renovation will include the reconstruction of district heating pipelines in collaboration with Utilitas, as well as upgrades to water supply and sewerage systems in cooperation with Tallinna Vesi.

From February 24 to March 2, children and young people in Tallinn will have a variety of opportunities to engage in activities related to science, technology, arts, and nature during the school holiday.

From March 5 to June 15, construction work will take place on Odra Street, temporarily closing the street to traffic. Bus lines no. 54 and 67 will be rerouted. Access will be maintained for local residents, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The City of Tallinn will once again offer free legal counselling to residents in 2025, with consultation days scheduled in each city district. The next counselling sessions will take place on 19 March from 9:00–13:00 at the Põhja-Tallinn District Government and on 21 March from 9:00–13:00 at the City Centre Social Centre.
