Tallinn Day will be celebrated for the 21st time on Sunday 15 May, but the first events to mark the city's birthday will take place on Friday 13 May.

This weekend, Tallinners can get involved in a series of community clean-ups and help make the city cleaner as part of the Let's Do It campaign. Helping hands are welcome in Põhja-Tallinn, Haabersti, Kesklinn, Nõmme and Kristiine districts, and activities take place on Friday and Saturday.

The organisers of the Birgitta Festival presented the highlights of the festival, which will take place from 6 to 14 August. Mozart's opera "Don Giovanni" and Sibelius's music for the play "Tempest" will be staged in the ruins of Pirita Convent, Finnish productions of "Black Monk" and "Uniko", and a new work, the opera "Lalli", begun by Veljo Tormis and completed by Rasmus Puur.

Today, 5 April, Tallinn City Youth Council addressed Deputy Mayor of Tallinn Andrei Novikov with a proposal to open night-time public transport services in Tallinn on weekends. According to Novikov, the proposal was certainly worth considering.

All four waste stations in Tallinn are open every day from the beginning of April to provide smoother service. The stations switch to summer operation on 1 April, which also means longer opening hours.

To create a nine-kilometre-long park area on a limestone cliff bordering Lasnamäe, Kesklinn and Pirita, a call for ideas was carried out among Tallinn residents. The results will be presented today, 31 March, from 5 pm to 7 pm, at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds (Lauluväljaku Klaassaal). The presentation can also be followed online.

With the arrival of spring, this year's season at Tallinn's ice skating rinks are coming to an end, only to start again at the beginning of next winter. By the end of the season, the city's ice rinks will have been visited around 110 000 times.

From 30 March, Tallinn is offering free legal advice to residents in ten scheduled consultation days in all eight of the city districts.
