Helsingin Sanomat reports on the growing popularity of Estonian robots in Finland. Over the past two years, the expansion of Estonian companies into Finland has been significant, despite the economic downturn in Estonia. This success is the result of long-term efforts, explains Pilvi Hämäläinen, the head of the Estonian Trade Representative Office in Helsinki.

The word “Entrepreneur” originally comes from the combination of two Latin words: “entre” – to entre and “prendes” – to understand. Tallinn Entrepreneurship Day focuses on the latter: “prendes”- to understand, grasp and think ahead. Throughout the day, we’ll collectively explore various aspects of entrepreneurship, emphasizing strategic thinking and a future-oriented perspective.

The 2024 edition of the IMD Smart City Index has seen Tallinn make significant progress, positioning it as a city on the rise. The index, produced in partnership with the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO), evaluates 142 cities globally on factors such as openness, innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability.

Another stellar success story of ecosystem productivity and network effect — 14 out of 30 fastest-growing startups in Eastern Europe are from Estonia.

Tallinn's startup ecosystem has demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability in 2024, achieving new revenue records despite challenging economic conditions. According to Startup Estonia, Estonian startups surpassed €2.7 billion in revenue during the first three quarters of 2024, marking a 10% year-over-year growth.

As part of Tallinn Entrepreneurship Day, the City of Tallinn is organizing its annual Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards to recognize outstanding local entrepreneurs and business developers. Applications are open until September 10.
