On Monday, 19 June, the youth-oriented summer of festivals will officially begin at Inglirand. Five youth festivals will be taking place throughout the summer.

The Tallinn Strategic Management Office in collaboration with Filaret OÜ has installed 80 special rubbish bins at seaside areas to prevent cigarette butts from ending up in the sea, while simultaneously collecting valuable material for recycling.

Tallinn creates emergency centres in every district, or institutions that are independent from outside service providers. The purpose of these centres is to provide help, advice and information during large-scale electricity or water outages, fire or other crises. While the emergency centres are mostly located in city district administration buildings that people are accustomed to visiting, the network is planned to be expanded.

Next weekend, on 5 and 6 August, the international triathlon competition IRONMAN Tallinn 2023 will take place, leading to temporary traffic restrictions and changes in traffic in Tallinn and Harjumaa. In Tallinn, the changes mainly affect the Haabersti district. Parking and car traffic will be restricted, and there will be changes to public transport schedules.

In the upcoming weekend and the following weekend, namely 13-14 May and 20-21 May, Tallinn residents can dispose of both hazardous waste and reusable items during the collection round near their homes.

Tallinn Waste Centre and the technology company ibiot are testing sensors that monitor the filling of waste containers and give a signal when the container is due to be emptied in order to prevent containers from being overfilled and waste transport vehicles from running empty.

Yesterday, the topping-out ceremony was celebrated at the Lilleküla Circular Economy Center, where Deputy Mayor Joosep Vimm and Tallinn Waste Center Director Rein Kalle removed the ceremonial wreath. The center is set to open in the fall.

The City of Tallinn provides residents with free legal advice on designated consultation days scheduled in each district. The next sessions are set for April 4 from 13.00 to 18.00 at the City Centre Social Center and April 18 from 14.00 to 18.00 at the Õismäe vaba aja keskus (Õismäe Recreation Center).
