From Saturday, September 14 to September 24, Tallinn will celebrate the 10th edition of the Days of National Cultures, celebrating the cultural diversity of the city.

This year, restoration or conservation works are planned for the Old Town's earthwork fortification, St. Catherine's Church, and the ruins of Pirita Convent in Tallinn. Restoration of the Patkuli Stairs, which lead to Toompea, will commence Monday, March 18, and will be closed to pedestrians for a couple of months due to the works.

Tondiraba Ujula OÜ has emerged as the sole bidder for constructing an Olympic-sized swimming pool at Kuukivi Street 3 and 5 in Lasnamäe, moving forward with signing a concession agreement and establishing a building right. The completion timeline for the construction is set at 34 months from the contract signing date.

Tomorrow, on April 30, the community-based parent education center 'Kesklinna Perepesa' will open its doors at Asula Street 11. The center offers advice and support in parenting, mental health, and maintaining family relationships. All families, from expecting parents to those with children ready to start school, are welcome. The services are free of charge for residents of Tallinn

Today, in a special session, the Tallinn City Government appointed new governors for the districts of Kesklinn, Pirita, and Põhja-Tallinn. Starting today, May 3, Sander Andla will lead Kesklinn, Doris Raudsepp will head Pirita, and Külli Tammur will manage Põhja-Tallinn. All candidates have also received approval from their respective district councils.

In the second round of grants for non-profit cultural activities this year, the City of Tallinn is allocating a total of 77,900 euros to support 22 initiatives.

From June 20-21, one of Europe’s largest technology and innovation conferences, The Next Web 2024, took place in Amsterdam. The event gathered companies, investors, and representatives from national and local governments. Tallinn is set to develop a comprehensive children's mental health action plan in collaboration with city departments and field experts. This initiative will be coordinated by Ott Oja, the current Executive Director of the Estonian Mental Health and Well-being Coalition (VATEK).

UNESCO City of Music Tallinn will commemorate Estonia’s Restoration of Independence Day with a traditional concert at Harjumägi’s 20th of August Square. The concert will take place on Tuesday, August 20, at 14:00 and is free for all. Mayor Jevgeni Ossinovski will greet fellow citizens on this festive day.
