Today, the Tallinn City Government appointed Julianna Jurtšenko as the new district governor of Lasnamäe. She will assume her duties starting October 1.

In collaboration with Avolux OÜ, Tallinn has installed 50 specialized cigarette butt bins in September across areas near the city's water bodies. The initiative aims to prevent harmful waste from entering waterways while also facilitating recycling efforts.

Due to filming activities, there will be short-term traffic stoppages of up to three minutes on Sunday morning, July 14, on Laagna tee, Veskiposti street, and at the Haabersti roundabout. Additionally, there will be stoppages on Pirita tee on Tuesday evening.

In May, the Tallinn Waste Centre (Jäätmekeskus) organized two campaigns for the free collection of waste. The hazardous waste and reusable items collection rounds took place on two consecutive weekends, May 11–12 and May 18–19. The large waste free disposal campaign was held from May 6 to 12.

Proposed changes were introduced in all districts, and residents were able to provide feedback through the city’s website. From September 23 to October 14, the draft regulation for the designation of the Astangu-Mäeküla Nature Reserve will be open for public display. The aim of the reserve is to ensure the preservation of valuable natural habitats, heritage landscapes, and cultural heritage sites, as well as to maintain a functioning green network.

The Tallinn City Government has submitted the detailed plan for the Erika 12 property and its surrounding area in Põhja-Tallinn to the City Council for approval. The purpose of the plan is to change the land use designation from commercial and industrial to residential and commercial, and to grant building rights for the construction of six buildings with up to five storeys, featuring ground-floor commercial spaces and apartments above.

The construction of the new Kullo Hobby Center building is set to begin soon. Tallinn Property Department has signed a contract with AS Merko Ehitus Eesti for the construction of the building and officially handed over the construction site to the contractor today. This will be a significant multi-functional building for the Kristiine district, providing both learning spaces for the hobby school and broader community use.
