The City of Tallinn is taking the next step in building a new tram line – preparations for the construction of the Pelguranna tram line are moving into the design phase. The new line will serve the neighborhoods of Pelguranna, Sitsi, Pelgulinn, Karjamaa, and Kalamaja, providing fast and convenient connections to the city center. It will also improve mobility options for pedestrians and cyclists.

The newly opened section now features pedestrian and bicycle paths, playgrounds and sports facilities, lighting, and much more to make moving through the urban space pleasant and safe.

Today, the SA Tallinna Haigla Arendus signed a contract with the joint bidders Osaühing Sirkel ja Mall and INDUSTRIA PROJECT Sp. z o.o. to start preparing the main design project for the future Tallinn Hospital medical campus.

Tallinn invites everyone to welcome the New Year at Freedom Square, where the celebration will feature a concert with performances by ensemble LAINE, folk-infused beats of Trad.Attack!, rapper nublu and an innovative light show titled “New Beginning.” Due to the concert, there will be traffic closures in the area and rerouted public transport lines to accommodate the festivities.

From October 20 to October 26, COVID-19 counselling and vaccination points will be open in Haabersti, Põhja-Tallinn, Kesklinn and Nõmme, where everyone can ask for advice on vaccination and at the same time get vaccinated. Two-dose Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna vaccines and a single-dose Janssen vaccine are administered. The counselling and vaccination points will be located in the local election polling tents that were set up last week.

From 7 am on Friday, September 24, one lane on Luise Street is closed due to the construction of the heating and water pipelines. Luise Street is completely closed on Friday evening from 7 pm to 11 pm on Sunday, September 26. One lane on Luise Street will be partially closed until the evening of Wednesday, September 29.

The Tallinn City Government has completed this year’s statistical yearbook "Tallinn in Figures" that offers an overview of the development of different areas of the city in the recent years. The population of Tallinn has grown for more than 20 years in a row, already reaching above 445,600.
