The Tallinn City Government has submitted to the City Council for approval a cooperation agreement between the City of Tallinn and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications to allow the development of the Rail Baltic Ülemiste passenger terminal to proceed.

From Sunday 26 December, free rapid antigen testing is provided at the vaccination, counselling and testing centre in Tallinn's Vabaduse Square. The service is intended as an additional preventive measure to reduce the risks of infection before meeting elderly people or people at high risk.

During the European Week for Waste Reduction in November, residents of Tallinn donated nearly 3,000 kilograms of household items for recycling. The collection campaign was organised in cooperation between the Re-Use Centre and the City of Tallinn.

Seven of Tallinn's eight COVID prevention points will be closed from 24 to 26 December, while the Vabaduse Square point will remain open on 26 December. On New Year's Eve, all points will be open until 19:00, and on 1 January they will all be closed.

Tallinn has launched a social campaign "Give your family a safe Christmas!" this week. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness about the possibility to be vaccinated with a first, second or booster dose at the Covid-19 counselling and vaccination centres in Tallinn.

The penultimate week of November is European Week for Waste Reduction. Among other environmentally friendly activities, this week in Tallinn you can recycle your unwanted but well-kept items.

A delegation from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is in Tallinn this week to prepare a report on Tallinn's transition to a circular economy. The delegation met with representatives from different sectors, both ministries and agencies, and on Friday Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart met with the OECD representatives.

As of this month, a new express bus line No. 64 is on route, riding from Väike-Õismäe to the Ülemiste City business campus through Mustamäe district.
