The restoration and repair works of the roads in the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds begin today, 24 April.

Young people between the ages of 16 and 26 can buy UNESCO City of Music youth tickets for this week’s Jazzkaar concerts at significantly lower prices than usual.

Fifteen thousand euros will be allocated from the reserve fund of Tallinn City Government to the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra to support Tallinn’s sister city Odessa and keep the tradition of Ukraine’s largest classical music festival ‘Odessa Classics’ alive in Tallinn.

The 41st Tallinn Old Town Days are set to take place from Friday to Sunday, 2-4 June. The streets, courtyards, parks and green spaces of the Old Town will be filled with a diverse and exciting programme. All in all, there will be over 40 concerts and more than 300 events, with this year’s theme being ‘Fresh View’.

The construction of the Vanasadam tramway will cause traffic changes in the area around the intersection of Kursi Street and Põhja pst. until mid-September. From Tuesday 6 June, the section of Kursi Street in front of the Tallinn Creative Hub will be closed to traffic. From 26 June, the intersection of Põhja pst. and Kursi Street will also be closed.

Grazing season has begun at the Paljassaare beach meadow – the Tallinn Urban Environment and Public Works Department initiative to maintain beach meadows with the help of Highland cattle for the sixth year running.

Construction works on the district cooling network will be taking place on the Tartu maantee and Liivalaia street intersection from Sunday, 11 June to 30 June. Portable bridges ensure the intersection will remain open during construction works, however, one of the two left turn lanes heading onto Liivalaia street will be temporarily closed.

On Tuesday, 13 June, Dr Bruno Marques, President of the International Federation of Landscape Architects, will be visiting Tallinn to meet with Deputy Mayor Madle Lippus and give a public lecture on the topic “Landscapes and landscape architects in a changing world”.

Today, 9 June, KUU and Nikita Atikin’s architects presented rough plans for the new building of Tallinn Hobby Centre Kullo. Although primarily meant for children and young people, the building will also become a modern community centre, adding value to the entire area.
