Tallinn is announcing Klindi Park idea competition to plan the nearly nine-kilometer-long limestone cliff course that runs through the districts of Kesklinn, Lasnamäe and Pirita as a green corridor. Entries can be submitted from May 19th to August 19th 2022.
Tallinn City Government and the Tallinn Urban Planning Department have put out for public consultation four preliminary plans for the Old Harbour area, which are open for comments until 12 January. There will also be an outdoor public exhibition next to the Admiralty Bridge, showing the nature of the plans and the proposed buildings.
On the last day of the year, 31 December at 22:00, a grand free concert will start in Vabaduse Square. Estonia's best-loved artists Anne Veski, Karl-Erik Taukar Band and 5MIINUST will perform, and at midnight there will be a light show.
The election week lasts from 27 February until 5 March. All voters are invited to cast their vote for the candidate of their choice either electronically or at a polling station. Exceptionally, a ballot box can also be delivered to your home.
Residents of Tallinn who are unable to vote electronically or at a polling station due to ill health or other valid reasons can order a ballot box to their place of residence from the City District Government.
Due to the construction of the second phase of the Vanasadama tram line, which will begin in April, changes will be made to 27 bus routes. From 4 April to 31 May 2023, buses 1, 2, 8, 9, 11, 14, 18, 18A, 20, 20A, 23, 29, 31, 34, 35, 38, 40, 44, 46, 48, 51, 55, 60, 63, 67 and 68 will be rerouted and bus 15 will change.
Until October 8th, all residents of Tallinn have the opportunity to submit ideas for next year's participatory budget projects. In the past two weeks, 222 proposals have been submitted, with the most active participation coming from the Nõmme and Kesklinn districts.
Tallinn's participatory budgeting for 2024 saw the submission of 491 proposals, surpassing the previous record by 76 and achieving the best result in four years. An expert committee will evaluate the feasibility of these ideas. The projects to be implemented will be decided through public voting.
