From 15 to 17 October, the Tallinn Smart City Center hosted URBREATH project partners, who gathered in Tallinn to jointly assess the progress made so far and discuss the next steps.

The newly opened section now features pedestrian and bicycle paths, playgrounds and sports facilities, lighting, and much more to make moving through the urban space pleasant and safe.

The Tallinn City Government has submitted a draft decision to the City Council to establish the Astangu-Mäeküla local nature reserve. The planned reserve in the Haabersti district will cover nearly 158 hectares.

Next year's draft city budget foresees a total of €50.1 million for operating expenditure and investments in the area of environment and environmental protection. Tallinn’s 2025 city budget lays the groundwork for expanding the tram network across districts. Inspired by other Northern European cities, street redevelopment will focus on improving quality of life and accessibility for businesses.

On October 9-10, a delegation of urban planners from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government visited Tallinn to explore the city's innovative development projects. Tokyo has made it a priority to increase the amount of green spaces and green corridors in its urban planning, and projects like Tallinn's Pollinator Highway and Digital Twin (Digikaksik) attracted particular interest.

Tallinn is planning to construct new tramways on Liivalaia Street and along the Pollinator Highway (Putukaväil) leading to Pelguranna. This week, the City Government sent a proposal to the Ministry of Climate for European Union funding to expand the city's tram network. The plan involves adding three kilometers of new tracks.
